Loudoun County is situated in the rolling Piedmont section of Northern Virginia bordered by the Blue Ridge Mountains on the northwest and the Potomac River on the northeast. Loudoun’s climate is pleasant with well defined seasons. The average precipitation is just over 40 inches a year. Altitudes range from 400 to 600 feet with mountain elevations reaching 1,800 feet.

Winter, though usually moderate, brings occasional snow and temperatures are typically in the 20s, 30s and 40s. Spring is mild and warms nicely in April when landscapes begin to show the blooms of dogwoods, daffodils and forsythia. Summer can be very warm with temperatures usually in the 70s and 80s and occasional days in the 90s. Autumn brings the beautiful colors of golds, reds and deep greens among the trees in Loudoun County.
